COME RUN WITH US

A running party.

It's easy, sign the waiver, show up a few minutes early and let our red-vested Run Hosts answer any questions you might have. All our group runs are free and represent all paces. More questions? Familiarize yourself with the Run of Show via our FAQ's below.

No matter what your pace, you never run alone.

Monday

Weekly 6pm - MIll CIty HIGHLAND

Bringing the party to St Paul, join us for our weekly Monday night community run.  We’ll offer up route options from 2-7 miles and as with all of our runs you’ll find a variety of paces, from sub-7 to over 13 minutes per mile and robust walking crew.

Every other week we swap between two sets of routes, and Team Northbound vs. Team Southbound is one of the more controversial topics at the shop.

Are you an overachiever looking for some extra credit? Sign the one-time waiver before your first run.

Tuesday

Weekly 6pm - MILL CITY NORTHEAST

Grab a friend and drop in on the most social run in Minneapolis.  Our weekly Tuesday run takes you through the historic Marcy-Holmes neighborhood and Minneapolis Parks System with 2, 4, 5, and 7 mile loops.

Like all of our runs you’ll find a variety of paces from sub-7 minute miles to over 13 minutes per mile and walkers (we promise, someone is moving your pace).

Wednesday

Race Team workout. Find out more about the Mill City Running Race Team here.

Thursday

Monthly 6pm - Alternating Locations

Bringing more diversity to the sport we love. Created and led by BIPOC members of the Mill City staff, this monthly meetup is for the Twin Cities BIPOC Community.

Just like all our runs this is free and will offer 2, 3, 4.5, and 7 mile options. Pace groups will represent all speeds and have designated leaders to guide you along the route.

This run is held on the second Thursday of each month, beginning at 6pm. We alternate between Northeast (even months) and Highland (odd months).

FINE PRINT! Is this your first group run? Our designated Run Hosts are here to help answer any questions upon your arrival.  We suggest arriving 10-15 minutes before the start of the run, we’ll be able to show you where to find the lockers and the restroom, review the route, and get you connected with our pace group leaders.

Friday

WEEKLY 6:30AM - MILL CITY NORTHEAST

Early bird gets the miles.  What started as a dozen runners getting together in 2013 has become an iconic weekend warmup in Minneapolis. With route options of 2, 4, 5, or 7 miles, you'll share miles with a variety of experience levels and pace preferences.

Our 6:30 am Friday run happens every week, all year long. Real Flaps are served approximately once per month, and coffee is served fresh and hot every week.

Are you an overachiever looking for some extra credit? Sign the one-time waiver before your first run.

Saturday

Twice Monthly - Alternating Locations

Our Assisted Long Run is hosted about every other week (ok…twice a month) and includes pre-mapped routes ranging from 6-20 miles. Along the course you’ll find multiple aid stations where runners have the opportunity to hydrate and refuel.

All our usual jaunts are laid out below. Look for the blue text to see where we're headed next.

We update the start time to match the daylight during the seasons.  ALRs start at 7:00AM from May through September, and 8:00AM from October through April.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are these runs free?

Yes, all of our group runs are free.

Is it truly all paces?

Yes!  There is a bell curve of paces ranging from 7 min/mile pace runners up to 13 min/mile pace runners.  The largest groups tend to range between 8-10 min pace. There are usually walking groups too, based on who is coming back from injury or recovering from a marathon.

Do I need to be a serious runner to join your runs?

No.  These are community runs open to all abilities.  We will have serious runners, casual runners, new runners, and everything in between.

How many people show up?

Generally between 100 and 300 runners show up at any given run.  Oftentimes more, rarely less. Once we hit the road, the group thins out into smaller pace groups.

Any best practices for those showing up for the first time?

Come 10 minutes early, we’ll show you where you can store your things, give directions to the restrooms, and have you sign our waiver.

Put yourself out there! This is a welcoming group, full of runners who are new to the area and/or the community.  It’s a great way to meet new people–just be willing to say hello.

Where can I park?

Street parking is widely available near both stores.

What are the distances?

For our weekly runs, we offer distances between 2 and 7 miles. We all start together for the first mile or so, and peel off from there.

For the ALRs, we offer routes between 6 and 20 miles, with a few options in between.

All routes are listed above so that you can feel prepared for your first run!

Do you do workouts or just easy runs?

If you’re interested in a harder effort, check out our Race Team. The Race Team trains and races together throughout the year.
